Predicting the Rate of Growth of the Novel Corona Virus 2020

Abstract

The deadly pandemic of 21st century has spread its wings across the globe with an exponential increase in the number of cases in many countries. The novel corona virus, responsible for the pandemic originated from Hubei province of China and the highly contagious nature of the virus soon crippled the world. This work presents a framework to predict the growth rate of the corona virus disease in the upcoming week in China and hence forth predict the rate of spread of the disease in the upcoming week. Using available data about the confirmed cases, death cases and recovery cases, this study defines the status of the disease in terms of Total Active Cases percentage till a given date, cumulatively.
